In a move which could change the way the UK music industry views the industry, Cold Play lead singer and Coldplay lead vocalist Justin Bieber is set to headline the UK Music Award Show, according to reports.

The news has emerged in the Independent, and it’s being reported by the Telegraph that the Canadian pop star will be joined by Coldplay’s lead singer/vocalist Justin Timberlake, who is also expected to be on hand for the event.

The Independent’s source, the Telegraph, also adds that Bieber will be “a massive star at the event”, and will be accompanied by his wife Selena Gomez.

However, the event is unlikely to be the big star-studded night it once was.

While the BBC’s The Music Show has confirmed that Coldplay will headline the show, the band’s UK tour will be a different affair entirely.

According to The Independent, the show will be more of a showcase for the band than a festival, and the band will have to do their own thing on the festival stage.

Coldplay have not yet commented on the report, but will likely confirm the news shortly.

The BBC’s programme will be available on the BBC iPlayer until 31 January.
