Dave Boyd will join The Vocal Syndicate as one of the judges for this year’s Vocal Singers competition, The Voice announced.
Boyd, a Chicago-based singer-songwriter, is known for his hits like “All I Want for Christmas Is You,” “The Only Way is Essex,” and “The Best is Yet to Come.”
He’s also been on The Voice’s 2014 Pop Singles list, and he recently joined The Voice Summer Tour.
“I’m thrilled to join the chorus of vocalists who will make a powerful statement on The Varsity’s pop-punk rock sound,” Boyd said in a statement.
“The voices we are hearing today are the voices that will inspire generations of fans and will inspire new artists to take risks and go further than their predecessors.”
The VOCS 2016 Pop Singers list, which will be unveiled later this year, features nine of the most popular and highest-rated pop singers in the U.S. over the past five years.
The competition’s first two rounds will be held March 7-14 and March 19-23.
The VIC’s 2017 Pop Singlers list will be revealed in April.
